Application Support Engineer

Talon has an exciting opportunity for a stand-out individual to join our Tech Team as an Application Support Engineer. This role involves providing technical and functional support to an evolving application stack at Talon Outdoor, working closely with Business and technical teams to identify the areas for improvement and driving out inefficiency in the process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st/2nd line application support to local and overseas users on the core business systems.
  • Act as bridge between business developers to collect requirement build solutions for the business problems.
  • Be actively involved in design, build and maintenance of applications hosted on premise and Cloud.
  • Develop and maintain automation for the operation of new and existing applications.
  • Identify opportunities to further streamline the Continuous Delivery capability, bringing improvements from concept to implementation.
  • Follow and create documented processes and procedures for carrying out application support.
  • Liaise with onsite/offshore teams to remove impediments and diagnose/prevent incidents.
  • Pro-actively monitoring and troubleshooting the applications and ensuring any necessary action is taken to maintain a good service.
  • Coach and support other team members/interns as and when required.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Application support role or similar technical role.
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
  • Experience and ability to deep dive in to DevOps toolkit in production with AWS, Terraform, Docker.
  • Experience working in Media domain (desirable).
  • Good understand of APIs and microservices (desirable).
  • Experience working with Java and MongoDB technologies (desirable).
  • Good experience of continuous integration/delivery, code management, code workflow and performance scanning tools.
  • Good knowledge of Linux & Windows platform management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Familiarity with at least one scripting or object-oriented programming language.
  • Experience with SQL scripting and database servers like SQL Server and MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with security practices in internet based application delivery.
  • Experience with configuration management, automation and orchestration tools.
  • A keen desire to learn & continuously develop your technical skills.

Talon has a superb opportunity for an outstanding individual with previous UK Out Of Home planning experience or Comms experience to join our business working within one of our growing teams on key clients. The successful candidate will have experience of operating at Account Manager level and will have an opportunity to operate across a wide range of business. 

Responsibilities

  • Be familiar with the strategy and objectives of your main accounts.
  • To pro-actively contribute to growing the client and agency business.
  • Take responsibility of coordinating your campaigns from start to finish.
  • Utilise in house systems on a regular basis ensuring they are kept up to date with all the latest planning information and campaign status.
  • Manage the relationship and communication across your account portfolio so all relevant team members are kept abreast of all developments.
  • To establish a regular dialogue with relevant agency personnel and develop strong relationships.
  • Develop strong relationships with key media owner contacts.
  • Contribute to the training and development of Executives within your team and the wider company and look at new ways of servicing the needs of clients and agencies within the portfolio.
  • The Business and Client Directors will delegate tasks directly to you. You are able to delegate these tasks to Executives (if within their capabilities) but, must ensure that expectations are met by your Business and Client Directors and work - loads / development is monitored by yourself.
  • Support your Business and Client Directors in key client reports and weekly figure updates if required.
  • Endeavour to pro-actively grow and develop clients’ business.
  • Prepare post campaign analysis and present quarterly updates and new insights.
  • Develop and grow industry knowledge through attendance of internal and external training programmes.
  • Have a thorough understanding and utilise all tools and systems, e.g. TGI, Touchpoints ¾ & Route.  Ensure Executives are utilising tools and help to train them where applicable.
  • Ensure all Talon insight is read and incorporated into planning process where applicable.
  • Ensure all planning templates are being used - Talon planning schematic, proposals, buying reviews/PCAs, site tour documents.
  • Understand Talon philosophy and SBU's offerings and communicate them appropriately.

Skills & Experience

  • UK OOH planning experience and/or extensive Comms experience – working on clients that spend significantly in OOH
  • First class relationship management skills with the ability to communicate across all levels both internally and externally
  • Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to apply this within your work

Responsibilities

  • Leading on the servicing of a portfolio of clients across a range of agencies
  • Managing campaigns from start to finish, including planning, buying & delivery
  • Take responsibility for the day to day management of the client team to ensure they are effectively servicing clients and are proactively contributing to growing client and agency business
  • Have a thorough understanding of the strategy and objectives of your main accounts and use this knowledge to add value

This role works closely with the Planning and Marketing teams to ensure we are communicating with our external stakeholders in the right way and generating insights in this growing and expanding part of Talon’s business.

Responsibilities

  • Generating insights and trends on the international OOH and Connected Traveller/Airport sector, using our own data sources and market information
  • Working on case studies to ensuring we have a regular flow of updated content
  • Writing and managing the production of regular OOH market updates that can be sent to agency contacts, on specific issues and changes to market conditions
  • Managing effectiveness studies and use of insight tools relating to the international OOH and airport advertising space
  • Collaborating with the insight team on client projects and data analysis for international advertisers
  • Ensuring our Plexus brand and offering remains at the forefront of effective and highly visual communications to all stakeholders. This includes developing and curating thought leadership content and helping with all content, some design work, pitches and presentation work
  • Driving relationships with partner marketing teams, including media owners, agencies and insight partners

Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands on HR generalist experience.
  • Experience within a start-up or SME scaling up is preferable.

Talon is looking for an energetic and skilled in-house Marketing and Design Executive. Reporting into the Marketing Manager, this role will be split 50/50 across both disciplines. The successful candidate will manage a range of marketing outputs from design to delivery, influencing our internal and external marketing. This opportunity is perfect for a hands on marketing and integrated design professional looking to get involved with a growing business, who has strong design skills and loves working on a diverse range of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Be the guardian of the Talon brand – ensuring that presentations and outputs are consistent with input to the ongoing evolution and expansion of the global Talon brand.
  • Creative input into the design of Creative Solutions projects.
  • Support client/agency pitches across all areas of the company when required. This will often require the creation of campaign mock ups and the design and finish of all pitch collateral.
  • When required, opportunity to lead the design and creation of some client’s Out of home advertising campaigns.
  • Refine Talon’s current output by reviewing existing templates and documents and create designs for a whole host of external communications from email newsletter templates, event branding, invitations, and Showreels.
  • Responsible for internal communications such as quarterly landscape updates and managing market updates.
  • Generating and managing digital content for Talon’s website and social media channels.
  • Evaluate and present analytics data on Talon’s social media and web presence.
  • Monitor industry landscape and competitor activity to identify opportunities for Talon.
  • Data visualisation/creating infographics to better communicate Talon’s insight output.
  • Opportunity to have involvement with internal photography and videography (e.g. with events).
