Business Development Manager, US - NY Office

Talon has a superb opportunity for a bright, entrepreneurial OOH sales professional, with an established success record across identifying, developing and closing new business opportunities. Position may be on a permanent or temporary consultancy basis.

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting new clients and ultimately turning them into increased business
  • Cold calling as appropriate to ensure a strong pipeline of opportunities
  • Identifying potential clients, and the decision makers within the client/agency organization
  • Setting up meetings between client/agency decision makers and Talon’s leaders
  • Being able to pitch and media plan
  • Working closely with Talon’s account team to develop proposals that speaks to the cli-ent/agency’s needs and business objectives
  • Developing a deep understanding of Talon core products, services, and values
  • Creating and delivering a pitch to sell these core products, services, and values to prospective clients
  • Structuring a new business plan to target the right clients/sectors with the right Talon products/services at the right time
  • Being a Talon Ambassador at key industry networking events
  • Having a proactive approach to lead generation ensuring a strong new business pipeline
  • Tracking and reporting the new business pipeline
  • Delivering against new business revenue targets
  • Work collaboratively across all internal teams including Client Service, Production, Finance, Sales, etc. Participate in the development, testing, and implementation of Talon tools and systems (e.g. Plato, Ada, etc)
  • Keep updated and be able to articulate Talon and industry news & developments
  • Get involved in wider company initiatives outside of your day to day role
  • Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Ensure all documentation is completed and submitted to Finance accurately and promptly for all team accounts to allow for contracts to be billed, collected, and closed timely
  • Demonstrate proper care and respect for company assets

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of OOH sales experience required
  • Strong understanding of OOH media solutions, market and industry trends
  • Must be result-orientated and able to work independently and within a team environment
  • Willing to travel
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Must be motivated and determined
  • A proven track record in generating leads and hitting sales goals
  • Record of closing deals, including cold leads

Production Manager, Denver

Description

The Production Manager is responsible for day to day management of production workflows alongside clients and the Client Services team across Talon US. Working across internal and external stakeholders, the Production Manager will build positive relationships, ensure accurate and timely delivery of work, and work effectively and efficiently across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize production schedules to meet specifications and deadlines
  • Work directly with print vendors throughout the production process
  • Be familiar with strategy and objectives of your clients and agencies
  • Responsible for communicating and meeting daily production requirements on behalf of media buyers/planners nationwide
  • Communicates with the production team to establish an efficient workflow from entering the order to completion of the production process
  • Works closely with Graphic Designer to ensure layout and design align with brand guidelines
  • Responsible for updating client art libraries
  • Estimate cost and makes decisions on where to send orders based on what is most cost effective
  • Ensure external vendor product availability, timing, and price align with internal needs
  • Develop strong positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, agencies, vendors, & partners
  • Work collaboratively across all internal teams including Client Service, Production, Finance, Sales, etc.
  • Ensure all work completed (where applicable): • is accurately delivered, internally and externally • are delivered in a timely manner, within required deadlines, and on budget • are using all appropriate templates and guidelines consistently as required per account

Investment Manager

Talon has an exciting opportunity for an Investment Manager to join our market leading Investment team. The successful candidate will have experience working in an Investment Manager role, have superb relationship management skills, meticulous attention to detail and be able to manage a busy workload. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the trading and negotiating, agreeing and controlling price across bookings.
  • Take responsibility of coordinating your campaigns from start to finish.
  • Understand the importance of the PRF and Productivity process and the investment strategies by client.
  • Work closely with your Account Investment Director and the Performance Manager to track and monitor all PRF targets. Ensure you understand the current position before entering market.
  • Deliver relevant KPI requirements and PRF guarantees, with the Investment Directors and Planning Team. Build relationships with the auditors. Attend your own client audits alongside a Client/Investment Director.
  • Comprehensively understand the media owners, their business and be an internal brand ambassador.
  • Develop strong relationships with all media owner contacts.
  • Work with the Planning team and Investment Team to negotiate and deliver approved campaigns.
  • Provide expertise for the assigned business area, externally and internally communicating any relevant changes in the marketplace.
  • Contribute to the development of internal documentation and software to supply the Planning Team with pricing and availability in a relevant, consistent, efficient and accurate manner.
  • Understand and work towards commercial targets to maximise profitability for group and associated partners.
  • Actively contribute to tools, systems and communication creation to improve the output of the team. Begin to form a long term overview of format, environments and media owners and be innovative in approach - identifying new income opportunities and ensuring these are activated in a commercially viable way, delivering entrepreneurial thinking at every opportunity.
  • Have a thorough understanding and utilise all tools and systems, e.g. Plato, Route. Ensure Executives are utilising tools and help to train them where applicable.
  • Support your Investment Director in key client reports and weekly figure updates if required.
  • Input into the post campaign analysis process working closely with the Executives.
  • Strive for maximum efficiency in plan creation and workflow process.
  • Develop and grow industry knowledge by attending internal and external training programmes.
  • Contribute to the training and development of executives within your team and the wider company and look at new ways of servicing the needs of clients and agencies within the portfolio.
  • Delegate tasks to executives (if within their capabilities) ensuring that the expectations of the Investment Director is met whilst workload/development of junior staff is monitored.
  • Endeavour to proactively grow and develop key client business alongside the planning teams.
  • Attend internal/external site tours where relevant.

Talon has a fantastic opportunity for a stand-out individual with UK OOH planning experience or extensive Comms planning experience to join our business working within our Independent’s team. Talon’s independent agencies are rapidly expanding and already encompass a wide range of agencies including Accord, Ptarmigan, AMS, Smithfield & Dewynters. These agencies represent a broad spectrum of clients from Etihad, Jägermeister, Café Nero, Jupiter, Disney Theatricals & Travelbag.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the day to day management of the client team to ensure they are effectively servicing clients and are proactively contributing to growing client and agency business.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the strategy & objectives of your main accounts.
  • Ensure you and your team are delivering on all elements of client service charters and general client servicing.
  • Resolve client/campaign issues as and when they arise alongside assisting/coaching your team in resolving their issues.
  • Analyse and attend all client audit meetings (in conjunction with Business Director/Head of.)
  • Work with Business Director/Head of to set individual client KPIs and ensure they are met.
  • Develop and manage the Talon relationship with agency, client and media owner contacts.
  • Help to manage and host internal training sessions.
  • Be prepared to get involved in non-account work - internal working parties, Route guru group, representatives of the company.
  • Ensure you and the team are utilising in house systems on a regular basis ensuring they are kept up to date with all the latest planning information and campaign status.
  • Ensure all Planning templates are being used - Talon planning schematic, proposals, buying reviews/PCAs, site tour documents.
  • Participate in defining the requirements to enhance systems/tools and have responsibility for testing them when requested.
  • Work with Business Director/Head of to provide accurate client forecasts ensuring they are kept up to date with key changes to forecasted business.
  • Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Understand Talon philosophy and SBU's offerings and communicate them appropriately.
  • Demonstrate proper care and respect for corporate assets.
  • Train your team on the day to day requirements of their planning roles, tools and systems.
  • Be responsible for first stage interview process for recruiting Client Executives and Client Managers.
  • Conduct annual appraisals of Client Executives and Client Managers (in conjunction with Business Director/Head of where applicable).
  • Review performance of Client Executives and Client Managers on a regular basis.

Skills & Experience

  • UK OOH planning experience and/or extensive Comms planning experience – working on clients that spend significantly in OOH.
  • Experience of working in data focussed roles.
  • First class relationship management skills with the ability to communicate across all levels both internally and externally.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to apply this within your work.
  • Ability to manage people and motivate them to bring out their full potential.
