Talon has a superb opportunity for an outstanding individual with previous UK Out Of Home planning experience or Comms experience to join our business working within our Compass team. Compass is a full service specialist team within Talon which focus on geographic bespoke data led planning. The successful candidate will have experience of operating at Account Manager level and will have an opportunity to operate across a wide range of business and big brands.

Responsibilities

  • Familiarising yourself with the strategy and objectives of your main accounts and proactively contributing to growing the client’s and agency’s business
  • Taking responsibility of managing your campaigns end to end, including planning, buying and delivery
  • Utilising in-house systems on a regular basis ensuring they are kept up to date with all the latest planning information and campaign status
  • Managing the relationship and communication across your account portfolio so all relevant team members are kept abreast of all developments
  • Establishing a regular dialogue with relevant agency personnel and developing strong relationships
  • Developing strong relationships with key media owner contacts
  • Contributing to the training and development of executives within your team and the wider company and look at new ways of servicing the needs of clients and agencies within the portfolio
  • Delegating tasks to executives (if within their capabilities) whilst ensuing that expectations are met by your Head of Compass and Client Directors, and workloads/development is monitored by yourself
  • Supporting Head of Compass and Client Directors in key client reports, any current projects and weekly figure updates if required
  • Preparing post-campaign analysis and present quarterly updates and new insights
  • Developing and growing industry knowledge by attending internal and external training programmes
  • Having a thorough understanding of and utilising all tools and systems, e.g. TGI, Touchpoints ¾ and Route, as well as all internal data systems within Talon
  • Ensuring Executives are utilising tools and helping to train them where applicable
  • Ensuring all Talon insight is read and incorporated into the planning process where applicable
  • Ensuring all planning templates are being used -Talon planning schematic, proposals, buying reviews/PCAs, site tour documents, etc.
  • Understanding Talon’s philosophy and specific business unit’s offerings and communicating them

Skills & Experience

  • Previous media planning experience and/or office/admin experience would be beneficial
  • Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, as you will be managing large pieces of data and information
  • Experience with dealing with clients and suppliers would be an advantage
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Proactive team player

Trading Performance Manager

Talon has a unique opportunity for a Trading Performance Manager to join our market leading Investment team. The successful candidate must be happy to work independently as well as part of a team and love working with data! In return, they can expect to play a pivotal role in contributing to our agency partners’ performance and to the success of the wider Investment team.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the Talon auditor pool data and create a comprehensive, easy to use master pool
  • Create a live tracking template for each client utilising historical pool data
  • Monitor all PRFs buying guarantees and create a monthly report to share across all the Investment agency Heads, Group Business Directors and Business Directors
  • Work closely with each Investment Account Director to create a client rate tracking grid which will enable them to make educated buying decisions at the time of approval
  • Provide an in-depth monthly report to all the Investment team tracking the value range required by each client to allow them to closer deliver against all buying guarantees (both value ahead or behind)
  • Take ownership of the productivity process. Work closely with all main agency partners in providing data, understanding the process and setting out delivery timetable across the year for all clients
  • Liaise with all Investment Account directors to provide context across all productivity clients upon delivery deadlines
  • Build a strong working relationship with the delivery team (The Hub) and work closely with Investment to ensure data is up to date and correct on the system, ready for the audit transfer process
  • Develop relationships with Accountability/Trading performance managers at partner agencies and share tracking positions
  • Begin to form a long term overview of the auditor world, gain a knowledge of price by format by media owner and working collaboratively across the team with this knowledge
  • Work closely with the Charity Cog and Finance team to track and monitor all media owner inventory
  • Create the master pitch grid rate which will be used to construct all pitch grids and enable Talon to provide better, more accurate context when working with our agency partners
  • Create efficiencies within the auditing process
  • Instigate quarterly auditor meetings with all OOH heads, looking to build a long term relationship

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working at a managerial level
  • Very strong communication skills
  • Advanced Excel and Word skills
  • Significant experience in an out of home, media owner and/or agency environment

Management Accountant

Talon has an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting into the Financial Controller – Management Reporting and Systems, with a dotted line to the Financial Controller – Operations, this newly created role will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to take on responsibility for the provision of management information and KPI’s with a significant degree of autonomy. With a scope that covers the whole of Talon, a business which is growing at a great rate both organically and through acquisition, as well as internationally, the role will offer ample opportunity for development and progression.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering efficient, accurate and timely management accounting
  • Preparing the monthly consolidated management accounts and board report, including detailed variance analysis vs. budget and forecast
  • Preparing the annual budget for overheads and consolidating the full company budget/forecast
  • Working closely with overhead departments to re-forecast costs as required to ensure ‘no surprises’
  • Managing the expense control function
  • Calculating and preparing the month end journals
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliations
  • Preparing monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations along with supporting commentary
  • Preparing and submitting VAT Returns and Corporation Tax computations
  • Taking ownership of payroll and related fees, working closely with HR to ensure payments are accurate
  • Taking ownership of the Fixed Asset Register
  • Assisting with the year-end external audit process and preparation of the annual Statutory Accounts
  • Assisting with the integration of newly acquired companies
  • Providing ad hoc analysis and support as required

Skills & Experience

  • Newly Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or Part-Qualified finalist
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible with the ability to work under pressure and to meet targets and deadlines
  • Self-motivated with a positive and can-do attitude
  • Ability to develop strong relationships across Talon and maintain credibility with a range of stakeholders

Talon has an exciting opportunity for an Investment Manager to join our market leading Investment team. The successful candidate will have experience working in an Investment Manager role, have superb relationship management skills, meticulous attention to detail and be able to manage a busy workload.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the trading and negotiating, agreeing and controlling price across bookings
  • Take responsibility of coordinating your campaigns from start to finish
  • Understand the importance of the PRF and Productivity process and the investment strategies by client
  • Work closely with your Account Investment Director and the Performance Manager to track and monitor all PRF targets. Ensure you understand the current position before entering market
  • Deliver relevant KPI requirements and PRF guarantees, with the Investment Directors and Planning Team. Build relationships with the auditors. Attend your own client audits alongside a Client/Investment Director
  • Comprehensively understand the media owners, their business and be an internal brand ambassador
  • Develop strong relationships with all media owner contacts
  • Work with the Planning team and Investment Team to negotiate and deliver approved campaigns
  • Provide expertise for the assigned business area, externally and internally communicating any relevant changes in the marketplace
  • Contribute to the development of internal documentation and software to supply the Planning Team with pricing and availability in a relevant, consistent, efficient and accurate manner
  • Understand and work towards commercial targets to maximise profitability for group and associated partners

The successful candidate must have experience working at Account Investment Director level and an extensive knowledge of buying Out-of-Home (OOH) inventory. Strong client and people management skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the day to day management of the Investment Manager to ensure they are effectively delivering on all buying KPI’s and delivering a best in class service
  • Responsible for the trading and negotiation, agree and control price across your agency/client group
  • Work with the Business Director and Client Directors to assist in creating and delivering Investment strategies by client applying commercial thinking throughout the process
  • Have an understanding of the PRF and Productivity process and the investment strategies by client
  • Working with the Investment Director - Operations and the Performance manager, have overall responsibility for the delivery of all client PRF/productivity guarantees across your set client allocation
  • Working with the Performance manager, analyse and attend client audit meetings where applicable

Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding and become a super user of Talon’s proprietary data management platform and solutions
  • Support campaign planning teams in developing effective out-of-home solutions for clients
  • Analyse different types of data from different sources; inc.audience, location, financial data
  • Explore in-house and open data sources and identify the best dataset for any given task/report
  • Think strategically and creatively to produce analysis which creates new insights and helps to solve audience targeting and campaign planning challenges
  • Use PowerPoint and data visualisation software and techniques to explain and showcase analysis and make analysis-based recommendations to campaign planners, partner agencies and clients
  • Communicate analysis and recommendations via oral presentation
  • Build strong working relationships and collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners
  • Maintain and organise Talon’s audience, location and inventory data sets
  • Produce ad hoc reports and analysis and contribute to other tasks as required

Skills & Experience

  • A quantitative degree e.g. statistics, mathematics, physics, computer science etc.

  • Leading on the servicing of a portfolio of clients across a range of agencies
  • Managing campaigns from start to finish, including planning, buying & delivery
  • Take responsibility for the day to day management of the client team to ensure they are effectively servicing clients and are proactively contributing to growing client and agency business
  • Have a thorough understanding of the strategy and objectives of your main accounts and use this knowledge to add value
  • Take the lead on resolving client/campaign issues as and when they arise alongside assisting/coaching your team in resolving their issues
