Portrait series by Rankin celebrating NHS staff to be showcased on OOH for anniversary campaign

Celebrated fashion photographer Rankin honours the incredible work of the NHS with a series of portraits of NHS staff, who each played a vital role in the NHS response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The portraits will be showcased as an OOH campaign, launching today (29th June) to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the NHS.

The portrait series through which Rankin expresses his admiration for the NHS, depicts 12 members of staff from all aspects of the organisation from ICU doctors and nurses to cleaners, porters, medical students and a senior comms officer. Rankin Agency covered ad costs and worked with Freuds to lead the campaign, while media space was donated by Clear Channel, via Talon Outdoor and JCDecaux.

The campaign will run throughout the week leading up to the NHS’s 72nd anniversary on Sunday (July 5th). The portraits will adorn Digital OOH inventory across the country, including a number of iconic large format inventory like London’s Piccadilly lights.

As the nation joins together for a final ‘clap for carers’ on Sunday, the striking portraits exhibited on OOH across England will reflect the UK’s gratitude for the incredible dedication and perseverance of all NHS staff.

The featured NHS staff have also provided stories of their personal experiences working throughout the pandemic which can be read alongside their portraits on the NHS England website.
